The Connect South Mends Street project has won another two awards, this time at the Project Management Achievement Awards (PMAAs) held on Wednesday 25 November.

The City in partnership with consultants NS Group received the awards for WA Project of the Year and Project Management for a Government project.

The awards, run by the Australian Institute of Project Management, recognise and honour outstanding achievements in project leadership. There were 13 categories recognising organisations and individuals.

The Connect South/Mindeerup project has received six other awards in the last 12 months including, international recognition at the Architecture MasterPrize Awards earlier this month, being judged best of the best in the installation and structures category, national recognition at the 2020 Landscape Architecture Awards in October this year, two awards at the WA awards ceremony in August, the Award for Excellence in the Civic Landscape category and the Tourism Award and the Iwan Iwanoff Award for Small Project Architecture and the Commendation Award for Lighting at the WA Architecture Awards.

The Connect South project was developed from the South Perth Foreshore Strategy and Management Plan which identified the Mends Street area for redevelopment. The $7.5 million project was made possible with $2.5 million from the National Stronger Regions, Round 3 funding and $5 million from the City of South Perth.
