Take part in a free fully accredited traffic management course

News Update 23 September 2020

Do you know someone looking to upskill and who wants to give back to their local community?

The City is looking for members of the community who are over the age of 18, to be trained to volunteer in traffic management.

The trained volunteers will implement traffic management plans for the City’s small-scale community run Streets Meets and 1000 Play Streets events which will take place approximately two to three times a year.

The free of charge, two day training course will provide participants with a Basic Worksite Traffic Management and Traffic Controller (BWTM +TC) qualification. This course normally costs $339 to complete.

The BWTM+TC qualification is a sought-after skill that can lead directly to employment in traffic control and traffic management.

This is a great opportunity for people who are seeking employment and/or community service hours.

The two day course will take place at 9am-3pm, Tuesday 29 September and 9am-5pm, Thursday 1 October at the South Perth Civic Centre, Reception Room, Cnr Sandgate Street and South Terrace, South Perth.

Places are limited so if you are interested please contact the City at enquiries@southperth.wa.gov.au or call 9474 0777 by close of business Thursday 24 September 2020.
