Get involved with Youth Week 2.0

Media Release 14 September 2020

Celebrate Youth Week 2.0 with two weeks of FREE events, celebrating the contributions young people aged 12-25 make to our community.

Youth Week WA is an annual statewide celebration which is normally held in April, however, this year the event was postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions.

This year’s events include a dodgeball tournament, comic art workshop, skateboarding clinic, craft sessions, basketball 3 on 3, cupcake decorating workshop, silent disco walking tour and pet portraits. There will also be an event to highlight the importance of World Mental Health Day, which is on 10 October.

The activities and events have been designed for a variety of age groups in conjunction with the South Perth Youth Network (SPYN) and will be held at different locations around the City.

City of South Perth Mayor Greg Milner said supporting young people and acknowledging the contributions they make is very important for a healthy community.

“The City of South Perth is pleased to support the development of young people, and does so through a range of opportunities, programs and events including the South Perth Youth Network (SPYN), public speaking and creative writing competitions, book clubs and sports activities.

“I hope that Youth Week 2.0 gives all young people an opportunity to pursue activities that are interesting, fun and that help participants to be their very best selves,” Mayor Milner said.

Join us for a packed program from 29 September-10 October 2020. Youth Week 2.0 is supported by Act, Belong, Commit. For more information and to book your place visit our website.
