Youth Week WA wraps up

News Update 24 April 2018

Approximately 400 people attended the City’s free Youth Week WA program of events and activities which ran from 13 to 22 April 2018.

The Youth Week events continue to grow and this year included a range of practical hands-on workshops as well as sports and entertainment. The City’s youth leadership team South Perth Youth Network (SPYN) helped plan and organise the program of events.

Local young people and their families enjoyed the free outdoor movies which took place Neil McDougal Park and Morris Mundy Reserves. The interactive workshops including flower crown making, Latin food cooking, stand up paddle boarding, basketball competition and chocolate making workshop were an instant hit, having sold out within days of being released.

If you attended any of the City’s Youth Week events, and would like to help create the programme for next year, complete our online survey before 5pm, Friday 11 May 2018 to enter the draw to win one of four prize packs valued at $120 each. Packs include a Perth Zoo Family Pass & Flipside Burger voucher and Cockburn Ice Arena Pass.

The events were supported by the Department of Local Government and Communities.

On behalf of SPYN, the City would like to thank the Youth Week WA sponsors: Hero’s Pizza, Perth Zoo, Cockburn Ice Arena, Flipside, Rollerzone, Baker’s Delight, Lord of the Fries, Utopia & Kart World Belmont.
