The City of South Perth Libraries have launched What’s Your Point? a new youth speech competition, that aims to encourage excellence in writing, public speaking, presentation and debating skills.

The competition is open to anyone aged between 12 and 25 living within the Perth metropolitan area. There are three age categories; 12-15 years, 16-19 years and 20-25 years, with prizes awarded in each category.

In its inaugural year, the competition topic is Survival in a changing world.

Written submissions must be between two and four minutes in length. The judging panel will assess the submissions based on originality, quality of the writing, understanding of the topic, persuasive and clearly articulated point of view, presentation and rebutting of counterarguments.
