5 tips to keep your pets safe over the holiday season

With the holiday season upon us and as the temperature starts to rise, the City's rangers recommend the following tips to keep your fur babies safe:

1. Always keep your pets water bowl clean and full, especially on hot days when the water can evaporate
2. Ensure there is shade outside for your pet 
3. Secure your property so your pet is safe at home
4. All pets should be microchipped and registered so rangers can return your pet safely if they become lost
5. Exercise your pet regularly, preferably in the morning or evening when it is cooler - view the City's dog exercise areas.
