Roll up your sleeves for National Tree Day - Sunday 31 July

Media Release 14 June 2022
Elderfield Wetlands

If you're looking for a free day out with the family, National Tree Day is the perfect opportunity to have some outdoor fun, enjoy quality time together and do great things for our environment.

On Sunday 31 July at Elderfield Wetlands in Waterford, the City will be hosting this annual mass planting community event to help increase our natural areas to provide more habitat for wildlife and reclaim turf areas to reduce water use.

This year, we're aiming to plant up to 10,000 trees, shrubs and sedges, so your help is vital.

Volunteers of all ages are welcome and, for your efforts, a free sausage sizzle and light refreshments will be provided.

Supported by Planet Art and Toyota, National Tree Day is an annual event involving communities across Australia to engage more people in environmental activities.
