Reusable Recycling Bags

The City's Recycling Centre offers large, reusable recycling bags for residents which can be collected from and returned to the Centre during opening hours. The bags can be used for green waste or recyclable material. 

Bags cost $5 to purchase and can be reused multiple times. Residents can dispose of up to two bag of  green waste per day for free.

Once collected green waste material is shredded and composted into garden mulch.

What can be recycled in the bags:

  • Bark
  • Grass
  • Weeds
  • Leaves
  • Hedge clippings
  • Logs
  • Dead plants and flowers
  • Small branches

What will not be recycled in the bags:

  • Animal waste
  • Food waste 
  • Invasive plants eg Morning Glory 
  • Large branches or logs 
  • Plastic bags 
  • Soil, stones or rubble
