Carols at Sunset 2025

Get ready to jingle those bells: the City is partnering again with South Perth Lions Club to present Carols at Sunset.

Enjoy the South Perth Lions Big Band, sing along to your favourite Christmas carols, and soak up a summer evening with family and friends. Better still, this is a free community event – everyone is welcome!

The South Perth Lions Club will be collecting donations at the event, with profits going towards the Perth Children's Hospital Foundation.

Our proud event sponsor the Good Grocer South Perth will be selling fresh cherries on the night, with proceeds going to the Lions Club of South Perth. Complete our Culture Counts survey to be in the draw to win a donated $100 Good Grocer gift voucher.

Schedule

• 5.30pm: Pre-show entertainment, children activities
• 6.30pm: Christmas carols by the South Perth Lions Big Band
• 7.30pm: Intermission and Santa's appearance on stage
• 7.45pm: Christmas carols by the South Perth Lions Big Band
• 8.30pm: Event end

Getting there

The event is on the Mends Street foreshore near the intersections of South Perth Esplanade and Mends Street. We encourage you to use public transport, cycle or walk to this event, with a free bike valet service available.

Parking

Parking is limited. Paid parking is available at South Shore Shopping Centre, Millstream Car Park and Wilson Parking Windsor Hotel.

Accessibility

This concert is wheelchair accessible. Path matting for wheelchair access will be in place and accessible toilets will be available. Auslan interpreters will be on stage throughout the duration of the event with accessible seating available.

Seating

You may bring your own seating including chairs and picnic blankets. The event will have designated areas for picnic blankets and low seating (low back chairs and chairs with short legs), and an area for high seating. No BYO umbrellas, marquees or tepees etc will be permitted.

Food and beverages

Bring your own picnic, support the Lions Club by purchasing a sausage sizzle, or enjoy a coffee and ice cream from one of our food vendors onsite. There are also plenty of local restaurants and eateries along Mends St and the South Perth Esplanade to choose from.

The event is BYO, please drink responsibly. No alcoholic drinks will be available to purchase.

Youth Makers Market

At this event you will have the opportunity to purchase handmade wares from the Youth Makers Market stalls. Support City of South Perth Youth creative and entrepreneurial skills and do some Christmas shopping!
