Media Release 7 August 2024
Citizen of the year Event

The Community Citizen of the Year Awards seek to recognise outstanding individuals and organisations that have made significant contributions to their local communities during the past year, or those who have given exceptional service over a sustained period.

Nominations for the Awards are now being accepted and close on 31 October 2024.

These contributions can take many forms, including but not limited to education, health, fundraising, voluntary services, business, employment, sport, arts, environment, social inclusion, or any other area that contributes to the betterment of the community.

Previous winner Sarah Yates noted that the Award gave her a sense of purpose and acknowledgement. As the owner of Our Ruby Girl, Sarah is a proud employer of people with disability and believes every person has the right to respect, understanding and equal opportunity.
