Evolve is back for 2020

Media Release 5 June 2020

The City’s Evolve – Arts, Skills and Culture program is back for another year, with a wide range of online and in person workshops throughout June, July and August.

Now in its sixth year, Evolve will be a little different this year, due to restrictions imposed because of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Evolve is a series of arts, skills and culture workshops with a diverse offering of practical and professional development sessions to cater for a wide range of interests, ages and requirements.

The program creates opportunities for the community to learn from some of the state's most talented and experienced practising artists and offers a unique chance for people to get hands on, practical and theoretical advice from industry leaders and experts.

As always, the 2020 Evolve program will offer workshops at an affordable price to the local community. The program will include workshops such as 3D needle felt making, ceramics, watercolour techniques, kids craft and comic booking making for teens.

City of South Perth Mayor Greg Milner said the City is excited that this year’s Evolve program is still able to go ahead.

“Evolve is a popular program and it is extremely important for our community to stay connected, especially in times like this.

“If you’d like to learn a new skill, meet fellow members of your community, or just enjoy a fun outing with the family, Evolve has something for everyone,” Mayor Milner said.

The first four workshops include:

  • 3D Needle Felt Workshop: theme Pets - Saturday 20 June
  • 3D Needle Felt  Workshop: theme Monsters - Sunday 12 July
  • Watercolour Workshop: theme Underwater - Wednesday 24 June
  • Watercolour  Workshop: theme Indoor Plants - Saturday 8 August

Bookings are essential. More workshops will be announced over the next two weeks. For more information or to book visit Evolve.
