Christmas in full swing at the City's libraries

Library 16 December 2019

With Christmas fast approaching, the City's libraries have been busy celebrating and decorating.

The Old Mill started our celebrations with the inaugural Christmas Tree lighting. The site was filled with people young and old and there were lots of carols and games as people brought their own picnics and enjoyed the beautiful evening.

The under five's Christmas celebration was well received by the community with 148 people in attendance and our special guest from the North Pole was a big hit with everyone.

Kat Scarff has been hosting fabulous family festive craft workshops at both Manning and South Perth. These workshops are all about families working together and creating some great gifts or Christmas decorations and they have been very popular.

There is still plenty of time to write Santa a letter and he will be responding every week including Christmas Eve. He's already made two deliveries to all locations so if you've posted a letter in our special Santa mailboxes don't forget to check for a response when you're next in the library.

Plus there is still space for our final event of the year! Our End of Year Disco is the perfect way to celebrate the end of term on Friday 20 December with music, games and activities in the Manning Community Hall and Library. Parent supervision is required.

On behalf of the City of South Perth Libraries, thank you for celebrating Christmas with us this year. It's been filled with a lot of joy and a lot of community fun.
