City to celebrate Halloween with community event

Library 15 October 2019

For the first time, the City is celebrating Halloween with its own event, specifically designed for families and hosted at the Manning Community Hub.

Encouraging families to bring their own picnics and gather as a community, the event will run from 4.30-6.30pm on Thursday 31 October 2019

A costume parade will give children the chance to showcase their outfits, welcoming everyone from scaries to fairies, and prizes will be awarded for creativity and sustainability.

Plenty of games will add to the fun, with giant games and ye’ olde games borrowed from the Old Mill.

The brave at heart will be treated to Wild Adventure Story Time, with amazing tales and trials shared in the evening.

And for the creatives, there will be Halloween craft activities for all ages to make and take home.

The event promotes community connection and safety, with the idea to encourage the community to enjoy one of its meeting places, rather than sending children around door to door to people’s homes.
