While the City of Perth will host a
fireworks and drone light show at Langley Park, no major event is planned for the South Perth foreshore, and only limited infrastructure and traffic management will be in place, as follows:
Traffic and road closures
Main Roads will temporarily close the Kwinana Freeway exit ramp from 6pm on Sunday 26 January. Visit the
Main Roads website for details.
If the car parks on the foreshore are full, traffic will be redirected at the Coode Street and Mill Point Road intersection and the Mends Street intersection to manage congestion. Keep an eye out for the temporary road signage for parking restrictions.
Coode Street Jetty Boat Ramp will be closed from 11.30pm on 25 January to 11pm on 26 January 2025. Signage will be in place.
There are special arrangements in place for Perth Water for the Australia Day fireworks and drone show. The Department of Transport has published all the details here.
Amenities
If you are planning a family picnic or visit to the South Perth foreshore, please be mindful that public amenities will be limited and parking restrictions apply. Attendees are asked to plan ahead.
The City will provide additional services including portable toilets, extra rubbish bins and rangers will be on-site to monitor parking.
Parking
Foreshore car parks will remain open. Be sure to check temporary road signage for parking restrictions.
Limited overflow parking is also available on Sir James Mitchell Park, accessible via Coode Street, with entry by gold coin donation to a local community group.
