Underground power update for Kensington
Underground power is one step closer for the Kensington area, with Western Power finalising the design and issuing the project for tender.
After the evaluation period is completed, a report will be presented to Council for consideration and approval, with construction estimated to start in Quarter 3 of 2025.
The City of South Perth’s goal to have all overhead powerlines placed underground is well underway, with many suburbs already serviced by underground powerlines.
This project is part of the Network Renewal Undergrounding Program Pilot (NRUPP), a partnership between Western Power and the City of South Perth.
