City to offer new ways for residents to recycle
Civil works have commenced at the Recycling Centre to make way for a new Salvage Shop and Containers for Change deposit point.
Expected to be completed early next year, the Salvage Shop will offer an exciting new way for residents to recycle. At the Salvage Shop, good quality, pre-loved items donated by community members will be made available for sale.
A new Containers for Change deposit point will also provide residents a local facility to drop off commonly littered beverage containers with the 10c mark.
The initial works will include extending the hardstand to make way for additional parking bays; installation of a concrete pad for the Containers for Change deposit point and removal of the existing Recycling Centre office.
Other works will include drainage, road construction, paving and installation of speed humps.
The Recycling Centre will remain open throughout the works with minimal disruption to visitors to the centre.
