Weekend social pickleball announced
Pickleball enthusiasts of all ages and levels will be able to take part in the globally popular sport at George Burnett Leisure Centre on weekends.
Commencing 20 October, drop-in sessions will be held each Sunday from 1pm-3pm.
The centre received more than 80 expressions of interest for the weekend sessions, which will cost $7.50 and include paddles and balls.
The racquet sport – which combines elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis – has become one of the world’s trendiest sports because its is suitable for players of all ages and skill levels.
Played on a smaller court than tennis and with a slower-paced ball, pickleball is an effortless and fun way to stay active.
Interested players can bring along a friend or team of four, with no bookings required.
