Refurbishments underway at Heritage House
Heritage House ('the House') will be closed from Friday 20 September until Friday 1 November 2024 for refurbishments, including new paint to the interiors, essential repairs and other maintenance works.
Formerly known as the 'Old Council Offices,' Heritage House was constructed in 1904. The House was added to the State Register of Heritage Places in April 1999.
The House is a brilliant example of 'Federation Free Classical' civic architecture, enhanced by an exterior that boasts a central pedimented bay and classical mouldings.
While Heritage House undergoes refurbishment, we recommend visiting the adjacent Windsor Park, home to the May Gibbs Garden. Heritage House is managed and operated by the (City of) South Perth Historical Society and you can learn more about their work at the South Perth Historical Society website.
And make sure you visit the newly refurbished Heritage House when it re-opens in November.
