New look, more fun at Swanview Reserve

News Update 28 June 2024

Swanview Reserve playground has re-opened, following the completion of significant upgrades and the installation of new play equipment.

This marks an exciting upgrade for local families and children who use the reserve.

The outdated play structures have been replaced with new, safer equipment, including swings, slides, and climbing frames that cater to a range of ages.

A new small nature play area has been introduced, featuring stepping stones and a timber teepee structure, encouraging imaginative play.

Additionally, mulch has been spread around existing trees, and the sandpit has been enlarged and relocated slightly, with fresh sand to enhance play experiences.

A limestone garden kerb has also been installed around the play equipment to define the space and ensure safety.

The final touches include the planting of close to a dozen medium-sized Eucalyptus trees, which are locally occurring species will provide shade and an educational element for children, who can observe and collect interesting flowers, bark, and seed capsules.

New aggregate and concrete footpaths also improve accessibility around the playground.

While the playground is now open for use, some additional enhancements are still underway.

Shade poles are in place, with the shade sail to be installed in a few weeks time.

We invite local residents to enjoy the newly opened playground while we continue to enhance the surrounding areas.
