City transfers Collier Park Village to Amana Living
The City of South Perth is set to transfer Collier Park Village (the Village) in Como to not-for-profit aged-care provider Amana Living, following endorsement by Council at the Ordinary Council Meeting on Tuesday 28 May and the Amana Living Board on 29 May.
Council decided to seek a specialised provider in March 2023, after recognising the changing expectations and needs of Australians in retirement living, with people living for longer and with more complex health needs.
Amana Living emerged as the preferred operator, backed by their extensive experience, reputation, and commitment to delivering high-quality care and accommodation.
Mayor Greg Milner said he is pleased to see the transfer of the Collier Park Village complete.
"This agreement will ensure the long-term sustainability of Collier Park Village and significantly enhance the quality-of-life and amenity for our Village residents,” he said.
“Amana Living's expertise and capital investment will elevate the standard of retirement living at the Village, supporting our residents to live their best lives.”
While there are no immediate redevelopment plans at this stage, Amana Living has committed to offering a mix of accommodation and services that meet modern retirement living standards at the Village. Amana Living has assured all existing residents that they will remain at the Village.
Peter Quinn from the Village Residents Association expressed support for Amana Living as the new operator of Collier Park Village.
“We believe that Amana Living aligns with our needs and expectations. This transfer marks a new chapter for Collier Park Village, and we’re confident that it will continue to be a wonderful place to call home,” Mr Quinn said.
The transfer is expected to occur by 30 June 2024 with Amana Living’s CEO Stephanie Buckland stating, “We’re honoured to have been entrusted with the stewardship of Collier Park Village.”
“Amana Living is committed to upholding the tradition of quality retirement living established by the City of South Perth while introducing innovative services to enhance the resident experience,” she said.
