How to report sick or injured wildlife

Bird deaths aren't unusual however in certain circumstances, further investigation of sick or injured wildlife or unusual bird deaths may be required.

The following scenarios are examples of unusual circumstances: 

  • More than seven dead birds of multiple species are found dead within hours of each other
  • More than 10 individuals of the same species are found dead within hours of each other or
  • Where there is clear evidence of heinous human intervention such as suspected granular poison or bait poison, etc.

If the above scenarios were to occur community members can take action by reporting to the Wildcare Helpline on 9474 9055 who can provide further advice for sick or injured wildlife.

To responsibly dispose of deceased birds, community members can contact the City of South Perth.
