Ley Street & Downey Drive drainage improvement works

As part of the 2023/2024 Capital Works Program, the City will be undertaking drainage improvement works along Downey Drive, Manning. Works are scheduled to commence 18 March 2024.

Works will take place near the intersection of Ley Street and Downey Drive, Manning and take approximately 3 weeks to be completed, weather permitting.

Works will be undertaken from Monday to Friday between the hours of 7am to 5pm. Please note the works may not be carried out every day during this period.

The drainage works will include:

• Installation of a stormwater retention system, including the installation of a soakwell and drainage pipe connection
• Road and verge reinstatement.

Temporary road closures will be in place during the road works and residents within the affected area will be guided by the traffic control personnel on site to exit and access to their driveway/car park.

The entrance of the Manning Men’s Shed carpark is located close to the work site and as such the carpark will be closed for a number of days while works are undertaken. Community members are invited to use the car park located at Jarman Ave, opposite to Henning Cr and on site street parking.
