Lockhart St works between Henley St to cul-de-sac end (north of Henley St)
As part of the 2022/23 Capital Works Program, Capital Works Program, the City is undertaking road rehabilitation works at Lockhart St between Henley St to the cul-de-sac end, north of Henley St.
Project update
Due to bad weather, these works will now take place on Friday 2 June 2023. This new date is still subject to change depending on weather.
Road works
Due to the location of the works, Henley St between Canning Highway and Roberts Street will be closed to through traffic. To safely enter and exit Canning Highway, motorists will be redirected to Thelma St traffic lights. Businesses within the closure site will be operating as usual. Entry into the businesses will be from West of Henley Street, from Robert St end. The construction works will be confined to 7am to 4pm on both days.
Driving on freshly laid asphalt can negatively affect the quality of the asphalt and increase the risk of bitumen sticking to car tyres.
Property access
Vehicle movements in and out of some properties will be impacted during these resurfacing works. This includes the parking for businesses within the affected area. Detours will be implemented to facilitate the works. For the safety of road users and personnel, please follow signage and take care when driving in the area.
Should you need to gain access through the site whilst the works are in progress, we ask that you speak to the traffic controllers who will direct you through the work site.
Elements of the works may unavoidably be disruptive. The City appreciates your support and cooperation during these works, our staff and contractors will make every effort to reduce any inconvenience.
