Road Rehabilitation Works - South Tce off-ramp and Melville Pde intersection

The City is undertaking road rehabilitation works at the intersection of the South Terrace Kwinana Freeway off-ramp and Melville Parade intersection, Como as part of the 2022/23 Capital Works Program.

The construction works are scheduled to start the week commencing 17 April 2023 and will take approximately four weeks to complete, weather permitting. The construction works are scheduled between 7am to 5pm Monday to Friday.

The works involve the replacement of the existing brick paved intersection to an all-asphalt design to improve the driving surface and increase maintainability of the roadway. The works will impact the adjoining road network including the South Terrace off-ramp from Kwinana Freeway. 

Temporary road closures and detours will be implemented in cooperation with Main Roads WA to facilitate the works.  The South Terrace off-ramp from Kwinana Freeway is required to be closed on most working days, including for a period of approximately seven days when the intersection is required to be closed day and night (inclusive of the weekend). 

For the safety of road users and construction personnel, please follow signage and take care when driving in the area.

Should you need to enter or exit your property while the works are in progress, we ask that you speak to the traffic controllers at the local traffic only closures who will direct you around the work site. Some on-street parking may be prohibited during the works period to facilitate construction movements.
