City secures funding for free outdoor community activities
The City of South Perth has successfully secured funding from the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries to deliver a 12-month program of free events to encourage the community to get active and experience the waters surrounding South Perth.
Out on the Water in South Perth offers a unique opportunity for children and adults of all abilities to take part in a range of water-based activities under the expert guidance of Curtin Rowing Club and Salter Point Sea Scouts.
The program includes a host of experiences including rowing, canoeing, sailing as well as land-based activities like bush walking and rock climbing.
Out on the Water South Perth is open to people who live, work or study in the City of South Perth and participants can take part on a regular or casual basis.
Curtin Rowing Club activities are suitable for adults and children aged 10 and up while Salter Point Sea Scouts caters for young people aged 6 to 25 years.
“The City of South Perth is delighted to support our local Curtin Rowing Club and Salter Point Sea Scouts to offer a year-long program of free outdoor recreation activities for our community,” Mayor Milner said.
“Out on the Water in South Perth is not only a great way to stay active and try something new, it’s also a great way to meet new people and connect with our community.”
The State Government through the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries is a major supporter of the City of South Perth’s Out on the Water in South Perth in Western Australia. Sport and recreation creates vibrant, inclusive and connected WA communities.
