Extraordinary Election to be held following Councillor resignation

City of South Perth Councillor Carl Celedin has resigned and an Extraordinary Election will be held on Friday 3 March 2023 to fill the vacancy.

At the Ordinary Council Meeting on Tuesday 13 December, Mayor Greg Milner thanked former Cr Celedin for his years of service to the City and the community.

"In addition to his duties as a Councillor, Mr Celedin has served in the City in a number of other roles, including as the Chair of the former Property Committee, as a member of the Audit, Risk and Governance Committee, as a delegate to the South-East Metropolitan Zone, as a deputy Delegate to the Rivers Regional Council and as a delegate to the Metro Inner-South Joint Development Assessment Panel," the Mayor said.

"Speaking in my personal capacity, I have very much appreciated Mr Celedin’s diligence, judgment and his commitment to this City. His reasoned voice and his contribution to the good governance of the City will be missed."
