Are you prepared for bushfire season?

News Update 30 November 2022

Despite being an inner-city local government, pockets of natural bushland increase the risk of bushfire for many property owners in the City of South Perth.

To protect yourself and your property during the coming bushfire season, which runs from 1 December 2022 to 30 April 2023, the City is encouraging residents to be alert and be prepared this summer.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services provides a number of resources to help you get started, including information for Preparing Your Property and a Bushfire Preparation Toolkit.

Property owners are also required to comply with the City's annual Firebreak Notice. Firebreaks are a simple way to help protect your property from fire and involve the removal of inflammable matter by land owned or occupied by residents.

Firebreaks are a legal requirement and must be completed on or before 1 December each year and up until 30 April the following year.

Please call 000 for all bushfire emergencies.
