Road Rehabilitation Works - Way Road, South Perth

Public Notice 11 November 2022
Road Works

The City is undertaking road rehabilitation works on Way Road between Mill Point Road and Canning Highway, South Perth as part of the 2022/23 Capital Works Program. Construction works are scheduled to start the week commencing 21 November 2022 and will take approximately 1 week to complete, weather permitting.

Working hours

The works are scheduled at night to avoid major disruption to high-volume daytime traffic on Way Road. Works are scheduled between the hours of 7pm and 6am Monday to Friday, weather permitting.
Traffic management

Temporary road closures and detours will be implemented to facilitate the works. For the safety of road users and personnel, please follow signage and take care when driving in the area. Should you need to enter or exit your property while the works are in progress, we ask that you speak to the traffic controllers who will direct you through the work site.

Road resurfacing

Resurfacing works (the laying of new asphalt) will take place on two occasions during the works period. Nearby and/or affected residents will receive a further letter 48 hours prior to the laying of new asphalt. Driving on freshly laid asphalt can negatively affect the quality of the asphalt and increase the risk of bitumen sticking to car tyres. Vehicle movements in and out of some properties may be impacted.

Noise management

The undertaking of the works will generate noise, which may cause some disruptions to adjacent properties. To minimise disturbance to residents, an out-of-hours Noise Management Plan has been prepared by the head contractor, West Coast Profilers, and approved by the City of South Perth.

Elements of the works may unavoidably be disruptive. The City appreciates your support and cooperation during these works. Please contact the City’s after-hours number on 9474 0777 if there are any urgent issues during construction.
