Road Rehabilitation Works - Lockhart Street Between Manning Road to Paterson Street

Public Notice 3 October 2022
Road Works
The City is undertaking road rehabilitation works on Lockhart Street between Manning Road to Paterson Street, Como, as part of the 2022/23 Capital Works Program. Construction works are scheduled to start week commencing 14 October 2022 and will take approximately 3 weeks to complete, weather permitting. The construction works are scheduled between 7am-5pm Monday to Friday.

Road resurfacing

Resurfacing works (the laying of new asphalt) will take place on two occasions during the works period. Nearby and/or affected residents will receive a further letter 48 hours prior to the laying of new asphalt. Driving on freshly laid asphalt can negatively affect the quality of the asphalt and increase the risk of bitumen sticking to car tyres. Vehicle movements in and out of some properties may be impacted.

Traffic management

Temporary parking restrictions, lane closures and detours will be implemented to facilitate the works. For the safety of road users and personnel, please follow signage and take care when driving in the area. Should you need to enter or exit your property while the works are in progress, we ask that you speak to the traffic controllers who will direct you through the work site.

Reticulation

The works may involve the removal and replacement of minor kerbing. If you have reticulation on an affected kerb line it may be temporarily cut, capped and relocated away from the kerb. A notice will be placed in your letterbox advising once your reticulation has been reinstated. We request that you test your system within two weeks of the notice. If issues present, please notify the City as soon as possible. The City is responsible for all reinstatement works and will not accept responsibility, or provide reimbursement, for other repairs or reinstatements carried out by third parties.

Elements of the works may unavoidably be disruptive. The City appreciates your support and cooperation during these works.
