Road Rehabilitation Works - Angelo Street

Public Notice 12 August 2022
Road Works
The City is undertaking road rehabilitation works on Angelo Street between Labouchere Road and Onslow Street, South Perth as part of the 2022/23 Capital Works Program. Construction works are scheduled to commence on 25 August 2022 and will take approximately two weeks to complete, weather permitting. The construction works are scheduled between 7am to 5pm Monday to Friday.

Traffic management

Temporary lane closures and detours will be implemented to facilitate the works. For the safety of road users and personnel, please follow signage and take care when driving in the area. Should you need to enter or exit your property while the works are in progress, we ask that you speak to the traffic controllers on site who will be happy to direct you through the work site. For safety purposes, traffic will not be permitted to access Angelo Street from Labouchere Road. During the works, please use the entry from the Onslow Street roundabout to access Angelo Street.

Road resurfacing

Resurfacing works (the laying of new asphalt) are scheduled to take place on three occasions during the works period. Nearby and/or affected residents will receive a further letter 48 hours prior to the laying of new asphalt. Driving on freshly laid asphalt can negatively affect the quality of the asphalt and increase the risk of bitumen sticking to car tyres. Vehicle movements in and out of some properties may be impacted.

Street parking

To facilitate some elements of the works, portions of the on-street parallel parking bays will be closed. All bays will be closed on the dates of asphalt resurfacing. During the works, the pavement surface will also be temporarily lowered, prior to the top asphalt wearing course being applied. This will leave a small lip between the asphalt surface and the brick paved parking bays. This is anticipated to last for one week prior to the top wearing course being applied.

Elements of the works may unavoidably be disruptive. The City appreciates your support and cooperation during these works, our staff and contractors will make every effort to reduce any inconvenience.
