In accordance with the 2021/22 Capital Works Program, and in partnership with Main Roads WA, the City will be installing a new Traffic Warden Controlled Children’s Crossing at the corner of Abjornson Street and Gillon Street, Manning.
Construction works are scheduled to commence on 5 April 2022 and will take approximately 3-4 weeks to complete. Installation of signage and line marking will be completed later. Works will be confined to the hours of 7am to 5pm Monday to Friday, weather permitting.
Resurfacing works (laying new asphalt) is expected to take place on two occasions. Nearby and/or affected residents will receive a further letter 48 hours prior to the laying of new asphalt. Driving on freshly laid asphalt can negatively affect the quality of the asphalt and increase the risk of bitumen sticking to car tyres. Vehicle movements in and out of some properties may be impacted.
Temporary lane closures and detours will be implemented to facilitate the works. For the safety of road users and personnel, please follow signage and take care when driving in the area. Should you need to enter or exit your property while the works are in progress, we ask that you speak to the traffic controllers who will direct you through the work site.
Elements of the works may unavoidably be disruptive or noisy. The City appreciates your support and cooperation during these works, our staff and contractors will make every effort to reduce your inconvenience.
