Neighbourhood concerts return with local musicians centre stage

Media Release 25 February 2022

Sounds in the Park is back by popular demand and the City of South Perth is inviting friends, families and neighbours to enjoy live music at their local park with free Saturday evening concerts in Manning and Como.

The Sounds in the Park Concerts kicks off with a dynamic performance by Proof featuring new hits and classic dance floor anthems on 26 February at Manning’s Challenger Reserve.

Both concerts are proudly inclusive, with Auslan interpreters, ample ACROD parking, as well as track matting to allow access for people using a wheelchair or pram.

Free children’s entertainment will be on offer for families of all ages to enjoy throughout the evening along with a variety of food trucks with tasty menu options on offer.

Mayor Greg Milner said the City was pleased to continue to deliver family-friendly community events in a COVID-appropriate environment.

“The City is proud to put on Sounds in the Park for a second year.

“I invite everyone to pack a picnic rug and head down to Challenger Reserve to enjoy a free live performance in a friendly community atmosphere. There will be a range of food trucks at the park providing delicious meals to enjoy, or feel free to bring your own picnic to share under the stars.”

The City follows State government advice in relation to COVID-19. This event is free, however bookings are essential, tickets are available online via Eventbrite. All event attendees will be required to sign inusing either the SafeWA, ServiceWA app or manual contact register and present proof of vaccination for 16 years and over.
