Be part of the future of Coode Street Foreshore
The City is seeking community input to guide improvements to the Coode Street area of South Perth Foreshore. From 14 February until 8 March 2022, everyone who lives in or visits the area is invited to contribute to the vision for Coode Street Foreshore by visiting the City’s Your Say website. A pop-up event at the foreshore and online activities will follow.
Coode Street Foreshore is the next area to be upgraded as part of the South Perth Foreshore Strategy and Management Plan (SPF Plan), which guides the management of 62 hectares of public open space along the Swan River from the Narrows Bridge to Ellam Street. It follows the landmark Connect South Project which saw the development of Mindeerup, a vibrant entry point to South Perth at Mends Street.
Already a popular location known for its wide-open green space, playground, café and riverside beach, the project will see Coode Street Foreshore become an even more attractive destination for visitors and locals. Feedback from the community will further shape the vision of the area as a better serviced family recreational space with improved facilities, food and beverage options, water-based activities and an inclusive playspace.
City of South Perth Mayor Greg Milner encouraged the community to get involved in the project.
“The South Perth Foreshore is one of the most beautiful and iconic destinations in WA. It attracts hundreds of families every day and provides opportunities for locals and visitors to meet, play and enjoy themselves in a world class setting.
“We want to make sure our community has the chance to be a part of its future.”
