Collier and Manning State Underground Power progress

The State Underground Power project in the Manning and Collier areas is progressing well with completion on schedule for mid 2022.

Cabling is now almost complete and the majority of street lights installed in the project area referred to as Collier, bounded by Canning Highway, Ryrie Avenue, Blamey Place and South Terrace.

Underground service locating works have been undertaken in Manning with drilling works commencing in early November 2021.

Both projects are scheduled for completion in mid 2022.

Background

The State Underground Power Program (SUPP) replaces overhead power lines with underground power infrastructure. The Program is a partnership between the State Government, Western Power and local government and is administered by Energy Policy WA. 

The Western Power contractors, Genus are currently working in the Collier and Manning area as part of Round Six of the State Underground Power Program.

The City is currently working with Western Power on a commencement plan for the South Perth and Hurlingham combined project area.
