News Update 18 November 2020
Connect South

The City has once again received recognition for the Connect South project, this time by the International Association for Public Participation (IAP2).

The project was Highly Commended in the Infrastructure (Planning and Design Phase) category.

The annual 2020 Core Values Awards help build awareness, contribute to the practice and be recognised for excellence in public participation. This year 18 awards were presented across 10 categories.

The Connect South project and Mindeerup have received six other awards over the past 12 months including the international Architecture MasterPrize Awards (AMP), National Landscape Architecture Awards, WA Landscape Architecture Awards and Iwan Iwanoff Award.

Connect South was developed from the South Perth Foreshore Strategy and Management Plan which identified the Mends Street area for redevelopment. Mindeerup was the result of extensive consultation and engagement with the local community throughout the project.

The $7.5 million project was made possible with $2.5 million from the National Stronger Regions, Round 3 funding and $5 million from the City of South Perth.  For more information visit our website.
