Friendly Streets are Safe Streets

As a result of some of the measures introduced as part of COVID-19, many of us have experienced the benefits of greater connection around our local neighbourhoods.

This includes conversations over the fence, basketball games on the driveway, or waving to people as they walk down the street.

The City has just launched its Streets Meets program to help residents plan and hold safe neighbourhood events in their street.

Establishing connections with your neighbours helps to build greater social capital, cohesion and community safety.
