Manning Road On-ramp Road works start 6 January

Kwinana Freeway Southbound On-Ramp from Manning Road Project

Commencing January, Manning Road between Ley Street and Kwinana Freeway in Como will be reduced to one lane in each direction. This closure will enable modification of the existing road to accommodate the new freeway ramp under construction to connect Manning Road to the southbound freeway lanes. Reducing the lanes will enable the works to be undertaken as quickly as possible while general traffic volumes are reduced on the road network. The closure will remain in place until March 2020.

Local Intersection Changes

During this time access from Manning Road to Clydesdale Street, Edgecumbe Street and Lockhart Street south of Manning Road will close at various times, with signed detours in place when closures occur. Intersection closure dates will be updated on the project webpage at www.mainroads.wa.gov.au and/or distributed using this email update service as they become available.

Traffic will be impacted in both directions during works; road users should plan ahead and allow additional time when moving through the area.

Traffic Management

Due to the constrained nature of the project area, traffic management changes will occur on the local road network and may occur at short notice to best manage traffic flows.

The following traffic management changes are expected on Manning Road in January 2020:

Speed Limits

• On Manning Road speeds will be reduced from 60km/hr to 40km/hr between Ley Street and Kwinana Freeway.

Roadworks

• One lane in each direction west of Ley Street to Kwinana Freeway.
• Lane widths will be reduced and merge points will be installed.

Intersections

• From 6 Januay access to and from Clyesdale Street (south) will be closed for interesection reconstruction.
• Intersection access from Manning Road at Clydesdale Street, Edgecumbe Street and Lockhart Street will be closed at various times between January and March.
• Watch for traffic detour information including dates on our web page.

Mt Henry Tavern

• Access to the Mt Henry Tavern will change as part of the project.
• Timing for access changes have been revised to early 2020.
• When Edgecumbe Street is reconstructed access to the tavern will change temporarily.
