Council election results announced
Greg Milner has been elected City of South Perth Mayor for a term of four years, after votes were counted in today’s Local Government election.
Mr Milner was elected Councillor in 2017 and has a background as a commercial and property solicitor in the private sector.
Mr Milner’s only Mayoral opponent, Travis Burrows, now leaves Council with his current term as Councillor ending.
Fourteen candidates ran for the five vacant positions on Council, with success for:
Como Ward - Carl Celedin
Manning Ward - Andre Brandis
Moresby Ward - Stephen Russell
Mill Point Ward - Mary Choy and Ken Manolas
The City thanks outgoing Councillors Travis Burrows, Cheryle Irons, Tracie McDougall and Colin Cala for their contribution during their time on Council, and outgoing Mayor Sue Doherty who served in the position eight years after being elected for two terms.
The new Council will be sworn in on Tuesday night at a Special Council Meeting when the Deputy Mayor will also be elected.
An extraordinary election will be held to fill Mr Milner’s previous position of Councillor for Moresby Ward, with two years of his term remaining.
More information on your new Mayor and Councillors will be available on the City’s website over the coming week.
