Kwinana Fwy temporary shared path closure and detours
Cyclists and pedestrians are advised that the Kwinana Freeway shared path will be temporarily closed from Cale Street footbridge northbound, from 18 February to mid-August 2019*.
The first detour will be in place from Cale Street footbridge to Hardy Street footbridge, via Melville Parade. See detour map.
The closure will extend north to the Narrows Bridge from mid-March until mid-June with detours will be in place via Melville Parade and Mill Point Road.
The temporary closure of the shared path is required for the safety of cyclists, pedestrians, road users and Main Roads workforce during construction for the Smart Freeway - Kwinana Northbound project.
During this closure, existing manhole covers on the shared path will be lowered to pavement level. This will ensure a safer and smoother journey for users. Some minor realignment is also required in a number of locations to facilitate the installation of gantries and drainage for the Smart Freeway project.
Shared path users are reminded to take care, observe all warning signage and allow extra time for your journey.
Visit Smart Freeway - Kwinana Northbound for the latest news and further shared path detours.
