Connect South project update
Following endorsement of the Connect South Concept Plan at the April 2018 Council meeting, the concepts have been translated into a detailed design which has now been advertised for expression of interest for construction tenders.
It is anticipated that project construction will commence on the South Perth Foreshore at the end of Mends Street after Australia Day 2019. Completion is expected by October 2019.
The Connect South Stage One improvements and upgrades have been designed following extensive stakeholder and community engagement at a cost of $7.5 million, with $2.5 million from a National Stronger Regions Fund (Round Three) grant and $5 million from the City of South Perth.
