EJ Reserve upgrade – stage one now complete

The new Ernest Johnson Reserve (EJ) community facility buildings are now complete and local groups and sporting clubs will be moving in to their new state of the art home throughout January and February this year.

The reserve and associated buildings are being redeveloped to better accommodate the needs of the local community. The development and implementation of a Masterplan for EJ Reserve was a key initiative in the City’s Strategic Community Plan and Corporate Plan. 

Stage two of the redevelopment, which will include demolition of the old buildings, works on the oval and construction of sports facilities, playgrounds and social areas, is scheduled to commence in early 2018 with completion planned for mid-year.

EJ Reserve provides recreational, sporting and social opportunities for the local community and users include:

• South Perth Junior Football Club
• South Perth Cricket Club
• South Perth Playgroup
• Girl Guides South Perth
• Rotary Club of South Perth Burswood
• Como Bowling and Recreation Club
• South Perth Little Athletics
• South Perth Junior Cricket Club

The Reserve is located in South Perth, bounded by South Terrace, Sandgate Street, and Hensman Street.
