The City is working with consultants Spaced Out and local resident group South Perth Activation Network to support local activities in the Mends Street area as part of the Connect South project.

Mends Street Farmers Market will be the first exciting activation brought to you by the South Perth Activation Network. The markets will run 8am–12pm every Sunday from 1 October 2017. Mends Street will be bustling with art activities, music and an amazing selection of fresh food stalls.

More pop up events will be announced soon, visit the Connect South project page or follow the South Perth Activation Network on Facebook.

Stage one of the Connect South project focuses on Mends Street between Mill Point Road and the foreshore along with parts of the South Perth Esplanade. It will deliver a piazza on the foreshore as well as streetscape and amenity improvements, landscaping upgrades and place activation activities.

Community and stakeholder consultation to date has provided some great ideas for activities and design ideas which will inform the place design concept plan for the area. Visit yoursay.southperth.wa.gov.au for full details of the outcomes of the consultation to date.

Connect South is a $7.5 million major project to enhance and invigorate the Mends Street precinct and foreshore area by creating a positive environment, both economically and socially.
