Nominations open for Volunteer of the Year Awards

Do you know an inspirational volunteer? Someone who has made a significant contribution to our community through their volunteering? If you do, then why not nominate them for the City of South Perth Volunteer of the Year Awards.
 
In conjunction with international ‘Thank a Volunteer Day’ held on 5 December 2017, the City is proud to present the 11th annual Volunteer of the Year Awards.
 
“Volunteers play a vital role in our community and in shaping Australia’s identity, helping to build strong and resilient communities, combating isolation and loneliness, and increasing social inclusion and community participation," Mayor Sue Doherty said.
 
“The City’s Awards aim to recognise these outstanding efforts and offer an opportunity to celebrate the work of the countless volunteers whose contributions help make our City such a great place to live. Volunteering is an extraordinary gift of service that deserves to be acknowledge, celebrated and must be valued and nurtured”
 
Awards are presented in three categories:
 
  • Junior Volunteer of the Year (under 18 years)
  • Young Volunteer of the Year (18 - 25 years
  • Volunteer of the Year (over 25 years)

Winners announced Tuesday 5 December 2017 at the Volunteer of the Year Breakfast.
