The City of South Perth has received a silver award for its 2015-2016 Annual Report at the Australasian Reporting Awards (ARA).

The ARA recognise excellence in reporting and encourage effective communication of business and financial information to stakeholders.

Open to organisations in Australia, New Zealand and countries in the Asia-Pacific region, including government agencies at all levels, corporate and not for profit organisations, the ARA provide an opportunity for organisations to benchmark their annual report against the ARA criteria which are based on world best practice. In the General Award category, Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards are presented to recognise the achievement of a high standard.

Telstra, Australia Post, Woodside Petroleum, Main Roads WA, Fortescue Metals Group Ltd and St John Ambulance WA were among the organisations recognised at the presentation.

“The City is extremely proud of its achievement at the Australasian Reporting Awards. This is the third year in a row the City has won a silver award, demonstrating the City's commitment to reporting excellence,” Mr Glass said.

“The 2015-2016 annual report provides residents and stakeholders with a comprehensive overview of the City's achievements.

“To be in the running for an award and successfully compete with other local governments and organisations from interstate and overseas is a huge accomplishment for the City, highlighting the tremendous work the City's staff delivered during the 2015-2016 financial year.”
