Notice of Adoption of Local Laws

Public Notice 9 May 2017

The following local laws will come into effect on 19 May 2017:

Standing Orders Amendment Local Law 2017

The purpose of this local law is to amend the City of South Perth Standing Orders Local Law 2007 to change provisions relating to public question time, to change a minor error, and to require Elected Members to submit in writing alternative recommendations to the Chief Executive Officer by 12pm on the day before the Council Meeting.

The effect is that the local law is amended so that provisions relating to public question time, a minor error, and to ensure that all Elected Members and members of the public are given the opportunity to view and consider alternative recommendations prior to the Council meeting that it will be considered; are changed.

Parking Local Law 2017

The purpose of the City of South Perth Parking Local Law 2017 is to enable the City to regulate the parking of vehicles within the district and provide for the management and operation of parking facilities under the City’s care, control and management.
The effect is that a person parking a vehicle within the parking region is to comply with the provisions of the local law.

Waste Local Law 2017

The purpose of the City of South Perth Waste Local Law 2017 is to regulate the storage, collection and disposal of waste and refuse from residential premises and on waste facilities in the City.

The effect is that unless otherwise authorised, the storage, collection and disposal of waste and refuse within the City must be carried out in accordance with the provisions of the local law.

These local laws may be inspected on the City’s website or during business hours at the City’s offices, cnr Sandgate St and South Tce, South Perth.
