South Perth Station Precinct place and design study commences

News Update 1 March 2017
South Perth Station Precinct

The City has commenced a place and design study for the South Perth Station Precinct (SPSP), in collaboration with the community and stakeholders. The project builds on the existing vision, consultant research and stakeholder input to date, and also considers development that is currently occurring in the area.

At the Business Workshop held on 22 February and the Community Workshop held on 25 February, business representatives and local community members were joined by City staff and Councillors, and planning, urban design and place making consultants RobertsDay to discuss a range of issues specific to the SPSP.

The Business Workshop was attended by 47 people and the Community Workshop attended by 56 people and the feedback captured will inform a best-practice Planning Design Forum (PDF), to be held from 13-17 March.

At the PDF, community and stakeholder representatives, including relevant State Government agencies, will collaborate with City staff and a team of urban planning and design, architecture, traffic and transport, and economic consultants to review the planning and development of the SPSP to date, and establish a new understanding of how the area should develop into the future.

Expressions of interest to participate in the PDF have now closed however all community members are invited to view the work in progress at public exhibitions held at the end of days three and five of the forum.

Interested community members are encouraged to come to the South Perth Community Hall to hear about the progress:
