Australia Day Skyworks cancelled due to light plane crash
It is with deep regret the City of South Perth can confirm two people have been killed following a light plane crash at today's Skyworks.
The plane crashed into the Swan River around 5 o'clock.
Water police immediately responded to assist the two people on board.
Out of respect to the deceased and their families, the rest of this evening's planned activities will be cancelled.
People are asked to please leave the area and those that were planning on coming into the area for the Skyshow are asked to stay away.
The City will assist WA Police and CASA with any pending investigation.
