Road Ribbon for Road Safety®

News Update 10 November 2016

The City of South Perth is calling on the community to help raise awareness of road safety by wearing a road ribbon in support of the WALGA RoadWise Program’s Road Ribbon for Road Safety campaign.

The Road Ribbon for Road Safety® campaign provides an opportunity for everyone to help reduce road trauma in Western Australia. It is a community-based campaign aligned to Towards Zero, WA’s road safety strategy 2008 – 2020 which urges people to take care on the roads this festive season.

The campaign commences on Sunday, 20 November.

You can show your support and help raise awareness by visiting the Civic Centre reception and picking up your free road ribbon.

Remember to:

  • Turn off your mobile phone before driving
  • Adapt your speed for the weather, light, traffic and road conditions
  • Belt up when travelling in a vehicle
  • Take a break, have a rest or if possible swap drivers. Visit one of the many operating Driver Reviver and Coffee Stop locations around the state
  • If you are planning to drink, arrange a skipper, organise public transport or stay overnight.
