Free recycling bags for residents
Missed the green waste collection or simply want to tidy up around the house? The City's Collier Park Waste Transfer Station has large, reusable recycling bags available free for residents.
Simply pick one up from the Waste Transfer Station between 9am-4.45pm, Monday to Sunday, located on Cnr Hayman Road and Thelma Street, Como.
Fill the bags with green waste or recyclable material and drop the waste off at the Waste Transfer Station, free of charge. Once collected, these materials are shredded and composted into garden mulch which is also free for residents. The bags can be used for collecting up to 120 litres of mulch.
Limited supply available, two per resident until stocks last.
What can be recycled in the bags:
- Bark
- Grass
- Weeds
- Leaves
- Hedge clippings
- Logs
- Dead plants and flowers
- Small branches
What will not be recycled in the bags:
- Animal waste
- Food waste
- Invasive plants eg Morning Glory
- Large branches or logs
- Plastic bags
- Soil, stones or rubble
