74 Mill Point Road revised Development Application open for comment

News Update 2 September 2016
South Perth Station Precinct

On the 26 August 2016 the City of South Perth received a revised Development Application for a 34 storey building at 74 Mill Point Rd, South Perth.

The plans feature a proposed mixed use development which includes 104 serviced apartments, 83 residential apartments and 220 parking bays.

A 29 storey proposal for the site was originally granted approval by the Metropolitan Central JDAP on 25 May 2015. The approved proposal involved the development of 91 residential dwellings and 18 commercial tenancies. A minor amendment to this approval was evaluated and given approval at the DAP meeting on 1 December 2015. This decision for approval was subsequently set aside as a result of a Supreme Court ruling.

On 22 December 2015 the City received an entirely new proposal and application for the site for a 44 storey mixed used development comprising 159 apartments. The Development Application was refused by the Metropolitan Central JDAP at their meeting on 13 July 2016. The applicant lodged an appeal for the review of the decision with State Administrative Tribunal (SAT) and following recent SAT Mediation held in mid August, submitted the revised plans for the proposed 34 storey development to the City.

The community will have the opportunity to comment on the Development Application via the City’s online engagement portal yoursay.southperth.gov.au and by email and mail.

Feedback received will be taken into consideration in the development of formal recommendations by the City to the DAP who will make the final decision on the proposed development.

Feedback closes 5pm, Tuesday 27 September 2016.
